Climbing higher from the Myona Gaola region, the tall forests fall away and the Himalayas open into high-altitude meadows, alpine vegetation, medicinal herbs and hardy mountain shrubs, including Shyamru, a high-altitude rhododendron with delicate whitish-pink flowers.
